THROUGH HIS POWER

Do you agree that one of the hardest things to do is to remain calm and peaceful through the trials of this life?

The world truly needs to see Christians as being different—trusting God, possessing and expressing joy and peace even during the rough, rocky times.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.   –Romans 15:13  (NIV)

Being Christians, we need to continually surrender every part of our lives to God. Surrendering can be difficult because it requires us to put great trust in our Savior.

He is our Creator and is quite capable of leading us being in control of each circumstance, if we allow Him to.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”  –Matthew 16:24-25  (NIV)

We all must endure different trials and suffer in different ways.  Consider that even Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, experienced considerable trials and sufferings in His short life on earth.  Jesus was tempted by Satan and suffered a grueling death.  Yet, He knew it was all part of God’s plan for salvation…for you and me, and willingly endured it all!!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  –James 1:2-3  (NIV)

During our times of trial and suffering, like Jesus, we have no choice but to depend on God and His strength to make it through.

God is not a God that rejoices in our suffering but rather His hands and arms are always there waiting for us to grab onto Him and draw from His power.  It makes us realize our need for Him in our lives.

God is always there waiting to work in any situation because we just can not do it alone.  We need God!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  –Psalm 46:1  (NIV)

When we reach out to God, not relying on ourselves, it is then that we can be different from the rest of the world, and experience that joy and peace through the trials of this life.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.  –John 16:33  (NIV)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  –2 Cori 12:9-10  (NIV)

  1. I can totally relate to that. Some people would say I’m so calm. But deep inside they don’t know, there’s a storm. I just keep believing in the God who could calm the storm in my life.

    Beautifully written, my friend!
