THE BARREN DESERT

Looking at the bare trees in late fall, one can sense the winter months are quickly approaching here in the northeast.  I was a little saddened looking at this scene, as I do not prefer the winter months as much.  It is more difficult being inside most of the time because of the colder weather; how I enjoy being out in nature, especially since this pandemic started.

This view was at least comforting with having the sun beating down though it was still very chilly.  In fact, I had five layers of sweaters and coats on!

Have you ever felt like those barren trees? Continue reading “THE BARREN DESERT”

RESILIENT

As I sat in solitude at a picnic table, with this view of a lake before me, God used some geese to capture my attention.

~At first, I observed the geese in the water floating around controlled by the buoyancy of the water.

~These same geese, a few minutes later, came to the shore and waddled onto dry ground, looking for some food to feast on.  I was watching them for a long time, taking many pictures as they were wandering around.

~After getting their fill, they took to the air flying with two other geese in different formations high in the sky and talking with each other. Continue reading “RESILIENT”

ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME

Attending a local women’s worship conference recently sparked a memory that I thought was worthy of sharing with you this week.  As I find so often in my life, God’s perfect timing to even hear about this conference two days before it was scheduled via our Christian radio station and realizing my schedule would permit me to attend, sure blessed me big time!

I did attempt to ask one friend if she was free to attend with me but she was not, so off I went solo, which is always fine with me too.  The people were very friendly and welcoming and at the beginning of the second day of the event, a lady came over and started talking to me.  It was cool to find out that she too, did not know anyone there but decided to participate anyway.  As we conversed and sat together at lunch, I learned that she actually knows of a friend of mine that lives in the same development as her.  In fact they exercise together though they never really conversed up to this point.  I wonder if they might now since they know a mutual person…me!  🙂

At this conference, there were a few different speakers you could pick from to listen to.  I stuck with the main guest speaker, Lynn Cowell, who is a part of the Proverbs 31 ministry for any readers out there who might be familiar with it.  I had not really known about the organization,  but have since signed up for a wonderful daily devotional they share weekdays.

GPS SAGA

For those of you who may be long time readers of my site, you might recall that I have had a love/hate relationship with GPS’s from my post entitled GPS.

This week I come to tell you that I still stand by that relationship with the good ole fashioned GPS that you plug into your car since I do not have a good cell phone to help navigate.

This weekend my youngest son and I had another harrowing experience trusting our GPS rather than the google maps that I checked out ahead of time.

These experiences provide me with more parallels or lessons to think about which I find relatable to our walk with the Lord. Continue reading “GPS SAGA”
