THE CANVAS

“God is the artist and we are the paint on the canvas!”

A perfect quote artist, Jared Emerson, a speed finger painter, shared as he finished painting a masterpiece in front of our eyes in about eight minutes!!  Yes, eight minutes!

Thoughts about a blank canvas were actually running through my head as I was observing the empty, black canvas while waiting for Jared to begin painting.

The empty canvas

For those who have been reading the last few posts I have shared, yes, I have one last story about happenings on the K-Love Christian music cruise a friend and I were blessed to experience recently.

I had the privilege of watching Jared paint two amazing pictures two different days.  Jared has a special gift of starting with a blank, black (eliminating the need to deal with shadows in the painting) piece of canvas entering into some usually Christian inspired music which connects him to a kind of worship where he then creates a beautiful masterpiece. He may say a few things throughout the painting or explain some scriptural references at the end.

In case you wanted to get a flavor of what this looks like, here is a video you can check out. It really is incredible to see!

Here are a few pictures of Jared’s in progress work on his last masterpiece from the cruise, entitled the Lion of Judah~~I know the pictures aren’t the clearest but thought I would share anyway.

Notice he actually started the painting upside down!

Look at these other masterpieces that Jared painted during the cruise!

Staring at that blank, black canvas and then watching Jared paint, finger by finger, creating such a masterpiece reminds me of our journey with the Lord.

Consider with me…..

Your life can be symbolic of that canvas~

Our lives start out as a blank canvas~

Actually, I think it is even more true that we should consider that each day we start our day with a blank canvas~

++++++++++++

Who is the Master Painter of our lives?

Who created us in His image?

Who molds us and fashions us?

Who has a plan for our lives while we are on this earth?

Yes, God does and is all those things in our lives and more!

Some days and trials you face may seem like some big, fat messy paint splats on that canvas of your life~

Maybe everything seems all mixed up and crazy; looking like a complete mess on that canvas of your life~

One day your life might be like the yellow sun; others day some dark, grey/black clouds on that canvas of your life~

Some days you might see God working so powerfully in your life connecting the dots showing the ripple effects on that canvas of your life~

Are you more open some days of your life to allowing the Lord to stretch you and move you out of your comfort zone moving that paint about readily on that canvas of your life?

This week may I encourage you to view each day as a blank canvas to the Lord~

Look at yourself, your life as the paint~

Know that God is the artist in your life~

Let your life be the beautiful masterpiece that only God can create with you!

Be the paint that your Master Painter, the true artist, can use to make a beautiful Masterpiece out of you, your day and your life…

How you ask?

By surrendering your life and will to Him each moment~

Trust Him to lead you~

Seek Him continually~

Obey His commands~

Follow Him~

Remember….

“God is the artist and we are the paint on the canvas!”

It was another honor to be able to talk and share with Jared about his gift of painting and the gift of writing that I share with others; both of us sharing the Lord in our unique ways.  Jared appears to be a very  genuine, down to earth guy who loves the Lord! I am blessed to have experienced this unique talent of seeing God shared in a beautiful way.

Jared Emerson, me & the Lion of Judah finished masterpiece!

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.  –Ephesians 2:10  (NLT)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!  –2 Corithians 5:17  (NLT)

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.  –Lamentations 3:22-23  (NLT)
