YOU SAY

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.  The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.  –2 Peter 3:8-9  (NIV)

This verse kind of seems to support the thought that God is not bound by time itself; something that is interesting to consider.  On this earth we think so much in terms of time but God might not have that constraint.

In thinking about that, I am always in awe of God considering how He puts everything together, ultimately in our good time.  Truly, we have such an awesome God and I can’t help but share how I see Him at work!

One day this past week I had two procedures done in an outpatient hospital setting to see if anything is related to the anemia I have been experiencing of late.

After arriving at the hospital along with others in the first waiting room, I ended up being the last of three others that were called in because of having different doctors for the procedures. I also had to wait longer in the holding area for them to take me to the procedure room.  It was actually almost an hour after my arrival appointment when I was  wheeled, by the nurse, into the procedure room.

As I entered the room I heard some music playing. Much to my amazement the first song that started playing was a familiar one to me. It was by Christian artist Lauren Daigle; the song being “You Say.”

Can I just say what a “perfect, God ordained” song it was for me to hear as the nurse was prepping me?

Here is a link to the song and the words for you to be blessed.  Maybe you need the reminder of the song’s message in your life.

“You Say”

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to knowOoh ohYou say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity

Ooh oh

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh, I believe

Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory

Ooh oh

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe

Oh I believe, ah
Yes I believe, ah
What You say of me
Oh I believe

After that song finished, I discover that it was a radio station playing and the next song that came on I knew was not a “Christian” song.  I was glad I heard the call numbers of the radio station.  Afterwards I checked it out and confirmed it is NOT a Christian radio station!

Finding that out made me appreciate God’s goodness in my life even more.  How often is a Christian song played on a non-Christian radio station?  I’m thinking not too often!

Yes, I had to make sure I wasn’t imagining it!  🙂

How awesome is our God, that every minute fit together perfectly for ME, little ole me, to be totally blessed by His Presence with hearing every word of that song at the exact time I was wheeled into that room?  I had been praying for the Lord’s Peace and Presence throughout the whole ordeal no matter the outcome.  Yes, my prayer was answered; the Lord’s Presence  and Peace shone brightly for me!

Not only was His Presence there, He spoke life into my Spirit with that particular song; the lyrics being just so perfect; a perfect reminder for my life and what I needed to be concentrating on!

To add to the specialness of that song, one night later I was catching up on the first American Idol show that had aired two weeks earlier.  What are the chances that not one, but TWO people, in their audition on that show I was watching sang “You Say” by Lauren Daigle?  Like, WOW, God is so amazing and I just have to share that “fire in my bones!”

God confirmed this song in my life a third time; three days after hearing it the first time.  I had the Christian radio station on in my car and as I was just pulling in the driveway from a day of holding and loving babies in the NICU, making a stop at a store and the car wash there was You Say playing! I came in the house and turned on the radio~

How can anyone but God orchestrate the impeccable timing of all those events in my life to hear that exact song to breathe more life into me?
If I had stayed an hour longer holding those babies like I was originally planning, I would not have heard it!  If I did not pick the particular line I did at the car wash, I would not have heard it!

I am so thankful to the Lord for providing these special moments, special encounters with His Presence in our lives if the eyes of our hearts are open to Him.

Be assured that God has that perfect timing for events in your life as well, my dear reader!

In fact, can you think of a time when you experienced God providing the “perfect timing” of an event in your life?  Please take a minute to share in the comment section below.

We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves Him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose.  –Romans 8:28  (CEV)

But if I say I’ll never mention the LORD or speak in his name, His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!  –Jeremiah 20:9  (NLT)

  1. I told you the other day about the “Best Lent Ever” series of video meditations. Matthew Kelly touched on it earlier as well, but in today’s meditation, he really stressed how “Busy” is “bad”! We tease my oldest sister about it because she loves Matthew Kelly and his messages, but she also loves being busy at ALL times!! She does NOT like how he is always “putting my friend Busy down” as she put it this morning 🙂

This afternoon, while looking for something else, I came across a letter an old friend of mine wrote to me for my birthday last year. In it she wrote “I somehow need to pause and ponder instead of staying in constant motion”. Reading that today made me think that I should find out if she’s familiar with Dynamic Catholic and Matthew’s Best Lent Ever series. It sounds like she might benefit from hearing his message this Lent (if he continues on with the encouragement to slow down and be less busy)!

It was just a little thing, but…… interesting how I happened to come across (and read) that letter from my friend today…..

    1. Thanks for sharing that special way of God speaking in your life, Barb! Yes, I think you will have to continue to share the Good News with your other friend too. I appreciate you reading and sharing~~And, you’ll have to be sure to read next weeks thoughts which might have a connection to your comment too! 🙂

  2. I hope all the tests find out what’s causing the anemia so the doctors can treat you successfully.
All the songs “coincidences” are surely from God’s presence like you say. Sometimes it’s a little “scary” when these events occur, (at least for me), but I realize God is trying to comfort me and I shouldn’t be afraid.

    1. Thanks so much, Carm, for the well wishes. I find it so fascinating to see God at work that I can’t help but share. He is an awesome God! I appreciate you reading and sharing. Blessings..
