SEEK HIM

Seek Him~~Seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him.

He can be found everywhere and in everyone.  Be still and soak in His presence in the beauty that is all around.  When we seek Him and find Him, we have found the greatest treasure this world holds.  These Bible verses summarize those thoughts so perfectly:

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  –Jeremiah 29:13  (NIV)

Your heart will always be where your treasure is.  –Matthew 6:21  (CEV)

++++++++++++

Spending Sundays going to some sort of park helps me take quiet time to seek Him and find His presence in nature, in the silence, or even in the sounds around me.

When I am going on road trips, it is easy for me to seek Him and find Him.  How I bask in His presence as I am on the open highway, especially if there is little traffic.  Setting the cruise control, seeing the hills of trees, sometimes desolate farm areas, the various cloud formations and the sun shining high in the sky fills my soul with His presence.  It provides time seeking and finding the Lord in prayer and worship listening to Christian music.

On a recent Sunday outing, the first area we stopped at did not have a body of water, which was the first time that occurred.  I was pleasantly surprised to seek and find God’s presence anyway.  I found Him as my husband and I first took a short hike in the woods, through some huge fields of goldenrod, grassy paths, and then an open field.

I decided to sit, read, and pen these thoughts at a picnic table that was right off the path close to a field of goldenrod on one side and a big open field on the other.  Spending most of my time there seeking Him, before going to a water area, was different but rewarding.

I found Him as I gazed upon the field with the many trees at the far edge.  Listening to the birds broke up the sounds of cars going by in the distance, as the highway divides two parts of this park.

It was a little chilly, though the sun was shining brightly, beating down on me, filling my heart and soul with His warmth.  I thought how perfect that the sun shines so high in the sky, one of the highest presences on this earth.  What a great parallel of how Jesus, the Son, representative of the sun, reigns over everything.  I love to face the sun, close my eyes, and soak up the warmth, letting Him fill every pore of my being with His presence.

Watching the goldenrod and other flowers sway because of the wind, the Holy Spirit’s presence, displayed more of the beauty finding the Lord.  I was lost in thought watching the white butterflies as they, too, were praising our Creator.

How perfect these verses are encouraging us to seek the Lord:

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.  –Psalm 9:10  (ESV)

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.  –Psalm 27:4  (NIV)

—We, who know the Lord, can trust Him in everything.

—We have the assurance that the Lord never forsakes us.

—We have the honor of dwelling in the house of the Lord all our days.

—We get to gaze on the beauty of the Lord all around us.

Seek Him~~Seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him.
God is truly the greatest treasure this world has to offer!

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!  Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!  –Psalm 105:3-4  (ESV)

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.  –Psalm 63:1  (ESV)

    1. Thank you, Jeff, for reading and sharing! Yes, we are truly so blessed that God has graced us with such beauty all around us! It is good to take time to soak it all in along with His presence. Nature is one of the first places I encountered God’s presence and continue to especially with Covid forcing me to “be still” more. Blessings to you and your family~
